Stories of a Broke Girl

Holy moley am I hurtin' for a busting bank right now! However, over spring break I felt like I had been really good watching my wallet so I treated myself to this beat right here:
The Jewel Box

I got it from this store called The Jewel Box in my hometown and decided it was the perfect treat for such good behavior.  I also bought a nice little creme top to pair with it!

I am in love with necklaces like this and even have some pretties pinned on Pinterest

Too adorable right?  I am too broke to be loving these right now.

Girls Day Out

Since  I am home for a stint of spring break and haven't been home in a while, I decided to pick the sister up early from school and have a girl's day out.  She got to pick our lunch spot, Red Robin (typical), and then we proceeded to get our nails done and have some fro yo!  The color I got at the nail place is AH-mazing.  This little number  called Lunch at the Delhi was perfect!

I was definitely hurting for something bright to ring in spring and this was exactly what I wanted!

I have also been craving this new color Kiss Me On My Tulips that is apart of OPI's new spring collection.  However,  I felt it was a little to early to bring out this kind of pink so I'm saving that little puppy for Easter!

This one below is my absolute favorite OPI color which is why I own it and it is possibly the only color I use during the warmer months.  This lovely is called Strawberry Margarita and it has never failed me!

I am such a sucker for brightly colored nails, they can really make my day!  I am now on the search for a mint-ish color to hop into a pastel spring.  Hoping I will find one soon!

Whew!

This week has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week. All rolled up into one. Fantastic.  I hade a concept map due Sunday night, a test Tuesday morning, a group paper due Tuesday night(WHO ASSIGNS THIS?!), and two midterms today spaced 15 minutes apart.  I have been to say the least going out of my mind.  I am so happy for this part of the week to finally be done because now  I can relax, enjoy the rest of my week, and get my butt home for spring break on Friday.  Tonight is the Kappa Step Off for all the Panhellenic sororities and Pi Phi are the reigning champs. so. excited. i love me some step.  Tomorrow DK's parents are taking us to our first Carolina Hurricanes hockey game.  So, the way I see it is I worked my butt off to do all these awesome things:)
Here are some songs that get me through my study grind

Alright-Darius Rucker
Awake My Soul- Mumford and Sons
                                                              Come Monday-Jimmy Buffett
These are definitely only a few that have helped me out on my endless days of studying but definitely some of my favorites.  Also, my Pandora was stuck on The Avett Brothers station which was so on point it was ridiculous.  Now to sleep!

If I could do it again, I'd do it the same

A friend and I are going to see Corey Smith tonight at Cat's Cradle in Carrborro and we are so excited! This will be my 5th time seeing him and every concert has been incredibly entertaining.  I was introduced to Corey Smith music back in highschool by a friend and have been hooked every since.  Here are a few of my favorite songs by him.

Wolfpack in the HOUSE!

Today and two other days out of the year are possibly the biggest days at NC State.  They are the games in football and basketball that we play against the UNC Tarheels.  People may complain and hate and say that we are not rivals but how could we not?  We are approximately 20 minutes away from each other, everyone grew up having an extreme hatred for one or the other (my house was a house divided), and we're both competitive in everything.  The last basketball game did not go so hot for the Wolfpack but I know our basketball team is coming on that court today with their mind set on winning. As a student, if you want a ticket to the game, you have to camp out for it, and I do not camp out in the cold.  But,  I will still be cheering on my Wolfpack anyway at the Backyard Bistro. Nom.  Here's to a great game.  May the best win!  And here's an adorable video of a young Wolfpack fan here.

Weekend Warrior and Less Crockpot Woes

I just got back from a more than wonderful weekend seeing friends at App State in Boone. I definitely love me some Boonetown, its the mountains(awesome), has some of my best friends residing there(more awesome), and has awesome food and shopping(way awesome). I got some goodies from Mast General Store and we ate and ate and ate. Bee was the hostess with the mostest making half the meals I ate. NOM.  My favorite meal though my have had to be the Chicken Salad Sandwich at Our Daily Bread in downtown. I rarely escaped the snow as I left too.  OF COURSE, I bring my camera intending to take lots of adorable pictures and it never happens so I put a little collage of the frands I went to see starting left  Bee, S, and LB.  They are incredible friends I have met through Carolina Cross Connection and God has definitely blessed me by putting them in my life!  The Lord has done wonderful things in all of our lives through this awesome ministry so I thank Him for these friendships!  While in Boone, I was also able to catch up with one of my best friends Cbrown (pictured below below) which is always a treat because we. are. the. same. person.  I've known this girl since 8th grade and we've been through just about everything.  Nothing beats a relaxing weekend catching up with the best of friends and a Harry Potter marathon thrown in the mix.

Bee, S, and LB

And.... I had to include this or I never would.  Here is a picture of my Crock pot success!  I made a very simple chili but I am very proud of the outcome (and so was DK's stomach).

Lastly, I leave you with this lovely picture of Cbrown and the moustache car.  Yes, a moustache car.

What I'm Lovin'!

I am currently already making my birthday wishlist despite it not being for another two months...  It's all right though because I feel like whenever it comes the real time to decided what I want, I always forget or I've already gotten it, womp womp.   Here are some of the things I'm pining for!

I am a Chaco girl and even though I already
have three pairs I don't have a pair with brown
soles yet.  Makes sense right?

This bag is perfect for camp during the summer.  One of
my bifs Sarah swears it is perfect for the job we do.
Gotta have it!

monogrammed? done.

I'm in need of a heavy duty laptop case and I lurve this print.

this is only a joke but only a slight joke because I have
been BEGGING for a dog since I can remember.

As far as crock pot woes, they are no more! The day before Valentines Day I tried out some chili and it was awesome!  I'll save that post for tomorrow because I have yet to upload the pics (lazy) and I also have pictures of DK's present that I crafted a la Pinterest.
